| Position Description
Perform professional duties related to the National Scholars Program (NSP) and Calhoun Honors College (CHC), focused primarily on recruiting, community building, and advising/mentoring high-performing college students. Collaborate and communicate with colleagues and faculty to create and enhance NSP and CHC initiatives. Provide support to colleagues in the NSP and CHC as needed. Serve as representative of CHC and NSP to various constituencies, including parents, prospective students, various campus committees and boards, high schools/guidance counselors, etc.
Position Duties
COMMUNITY BUILDING AND PROGRAM PLANNING: Coordinate existing and develop new programs that strengthen the scholars/honors community, including retreats, orientation activities, welcome events, study travel, faculty-led discussions, and other activities; develop and maintain alumni programs for both programs. ADVISING: Meet regularly with students to advise on academic and professional planning. E/25%
RECRUITING/SELECTION: Assist in a range of recruiting efforts, including admission and selection process; prospect visits and meetings; marketing and communications (web site, newsletters, publications, presentations, etc.); and schools and conference visits to promote programs. E/25%
REPORTING: Maintain and generate reports as needed; manage assessment reporting for both programs; assist in budget management. E/10%

Requirements
A bachelor's degree and experience in student services programs.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of professional experience in higher education OR a
Bachelor's degree plus Master's degree in student affairs, higher education administration, or related field.
Knowledge of student development theories and best practices in programming planning, event management, and advising; able to manage several multi-part programs with limited supervision; able to represent Clemson University to outside groups and present self professionally with students, parents, colleagues, etc., in a variety of settings; working knowledge of web design programs, particularly Cascade; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; able to work in flexible, fast-moving environment.
Compensation & Work Schedule
Standard Hrs: 37.5; Band: 05 ($ 30,274.00 - $ 56,015.00)
Limited travel, some evenings and weekends.
Additional Comments
The successful candidate will be supervised by an administrative faculty member and will receive regular guidance and feedback to improve job performance and professional development. He or she must be comfortable with a high level of responsibility and independence in executing existing programs and creating new initiatives.
