DUTIES
Intensive academic advising & individualized program planning; coordination of selected opportunities for honors students, such as freshmen seminars, international experiences, scholarships; leadership or coordination of other programs-as assigned; interaction with academically-talented undergraduates in all disciplines; consultation with faculty honors advisers and instructors in all departments; advising at Academic Orientation Program; some recruiting activities involving evenings & weekends. QUALIFICATIONS
Masters in any field. Qualifications other than degree: (to compliment the current staff expertise). Masters in student personnel, counseling, education, or related field and/or 2-3 years of advising/student services experience is a plus. Substantial university experience and familiarity with co-curricular activities, ability to liaise with advisers and instructors and experience advising high-ability college students.  Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal/written presentation and computer skills. Familiarity with MSU programs, curriculum, student academic policies, and procedures (including MSU's Student Information System), or ability to learn them quickly is a plus. Experience with database management and interactive web applications is a plus. Prefer individuals interested in a long-term commitment to honors education.
